FeatherPulse FP-300 Precision Laser Ablation
The FP-300 is a 300-watt pulsed fiber laser system designed specifically for non-destructive surface preparation in aviation and industrial applications. Unlike continuous-wave lasers, the FP-300's pulsed operation removes coatings and contaminants without thermal damage to the underlying substrate.
Technical Specifications
- 300W average power, pulsed fiber laser source
- Non-destructive: removes paint, primer, corrosion without substrate damage
- Adjustable pulse frequency and scan patterns for different materials
- Portable cabinet design with integrated chiller and filtration
- FAA-compliant process for aircraft surface preparation
Applications
The FP-300 excels at paint stripping from aluminum and composite aircraft skins, corrosion removal from landing gear and engine components, surface preparation before NDT inspection, and oxide removal from weld joints. It replaces chemical stripping, media blasting, and manual sanding with a clean, precise, environmentally friendly process.
Integration with SPARCL Robotics
When mounted on a SPARCL robotic arm, the FP-300 becomes a fully automated surface preparation system. The robot handles path planning, standoff distance control, and scan overlap while the operator monitors from a safe distance. This combination delivers consistent results across large surface areas with minimal operator fatigue.
